SUBMIT YOUR FILM HERE | Entries due July 14th at the end of the day.

Rules and Submission Information:

ELIGIBILITY

  • Must be between the ages of 12-18
  • Must have a valid Provo City Library card (or parent/guardian with a valid card)
  • Only one entry per person

CONTEST PERIOD

  • Submissions accepted from June 1, 2024 through July 14, 2024
  • Awards ceremony and film viewing party at 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Create your original short film with the theme of “Adventure”
  • Film should be 1-5 minutes long
  • Film should be suitable for audiences of all ages
  • All music and images must have permission from the creator or be in the public domain
  • Upload your film to YouTube (must be viewable during the judging period and the awards screening)
  • Complete the online submission form

FILMING AT THE LIBRARY

  • If you choose to film at the Provo City Library (outside of the Basement Creative Lab), check in with the reference desk before you begin
  • Large equipment setup is not permitted, filming must not impede patron access
  • Be courteous of patrons using the Library
  • Strive to only film those in your party

JUDGING

  • Films will be judged by Provo City Library staff
  • Judges will consider the following criteria:
    • Theme incorporation
    • Film editing
    • Production design
    • Sound mixing
    • Writing
  • “Viewer’s Choice Award” will be voted on by the audience at the viewing party on July 25, 2024, located in the Shaw Programming Room, #260

AWARDS

  • 1st place: $100 Amazon gift card
  • 2nd place: $50 Amazon gift card
  • 3rd place: $25 Amazon gift card
  • Viewer’s Choice: $40 Amazon gift card
