NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

This page displays the multiple public meetings which take place at the Provo Library and that are hosted by non-profit, 501(c)(3), organizations. Any member of the public is permitted to attend these events.

The following meetings are open to any member of the community and are entirely free to attend. These meetings also present information useful to the general public.

All organzations hosting these events are either registered non-profits or are governement entities representing the citizens of Provo.

SCA MEDIEVAL NIGHT AT THE LIBRARY: INTRO TO ITALIAN RAPIER FIGHTING

6:00pm - 9:00pm - Young Special Events Room #201 - Second Floor Academy

Join the Shire of Arrow's Flight, a chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism, as we learn about the Middle Ages and Renaissance. Join us for an introduction to Italian Renaissance Fencing, to see some historical weapons, and to try what was called "The Art of Defense." Ages 14+ are welcome to take up the sword with us. Under 14, and you can try our youth fencing option. For more information visit arrowsflight.org Don't worry if you don't want to fight. Bring your medieval craft project and chat and make it with other artisans as we gather, starting at 7 PM for our Arts and Crafts time. The Public is welcome, and we hope you'll join us for an adventure.

UTAH VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Utah Valley Historical Society offers lectures on topics relevant to Utah's History and the history of the American West monthly from September through May. All meetings are free and open to the public. We provide a broad range of subjects and our speakers are carefully selected as experts in their fields. MOMS FOR AMERICA COTTAGE MEETING

The mission for the National organization, Mom's for America, is to empower moms, promote liberty and raise a generation of patriots. The 12 cottage meetings are the foundational lessons.May's topic is #9, A Time to Sow. Each lesson stands alone, but the others may be accessed.

DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

The Wasatch Range Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution supports the 3-fold mission of Historic Preservation, Education, and Patriotism. We give service to active military units, veterans, first responders, schools, and other programs within our local communities. We are open to the public.

This is our monthly meeting in which we discuss how to make Provo more pedestrian and bicycle friendly. BikeWalk Provo advocates for street design and culture that makes it safe, convenient, and fun for all people to move around by bike or foot.

Wear Orange honors the 125 people shot and killed every day in the United States, along with the hundreds more wounded and the countless others whose lives have been changed by gun violence. Join us on June 6, to honor survivors and build community with those working to end gun violence.

The Shire of Arrow's Flight invites you to our monthly Arts and Crafts night and Medieval Martial Arts practice at the Provo Library. From 6-7 PM, learn to make and play 9 Men's Morris, a medieval board game. From 7 - 9, things get a little noisy as we practice the art of fencing and the skill of armored combat. MAN TALK

MAN TALK presented by The Men of Good Will of Discover Identity.

Man Talk is a non-denominational men's meeting, where men come to lean, grow, and share. Topics vary, and center around emotional health, spirituality, healthy masculinity, and personal growth. All men are welcome to attend.

Note: Discover identity offers similar programs for women.
