When it comes to art, there aren’t a lot of universals. Each artist takes an individualized approach to choosing their medium and style. However, one thing does seem universal: they’re all about nouns.
People, places, things, ideas: these are the things we make art about, and though the form of representation is unique, the subject matter comes down to these four things. The most meaningful things in our lives are nouns, and it’s nouns that we return to in our art.
